The Ross Mitchell & Associates Yamaha Australian Safari team is doing well.  Jonah is currently in 5th place after the third day on his Top 1 Oil sponsored after the second stage.  Young local Jacob Smith is in 6th place.  Unfortunately, Casey had a bit of bad luck yesterday.  A length of barbed wire got caught up in his rear wheel and ended up costing him about 45 minutes as he tried to get it unwrapped and unwound.  But he and the bike are now fine.

The rally so far has been numerous very short stages with little or no navigation.  Today had one stage with some navigation, and a bunch of riders got a little lost, but Casey and Jonah nailed it.  They both moved up several places today, and are looking good for some strong days coming up.

Today's rider Channing melted a bib mousse yesterday, and was forced to ride for over 50k on a flat rear tire, causing him to be late for his transfer section time, but he has yet to earn a penalty.

Hopefully tomorrow the rally will turn and some more technical riding and navigation will come into play where Jonah and Casey can showcase their talents.
